A Choice duplication

Darryl Sherer - Sunday February 25

Saturday's Angus Armanasco Stakes winner Summer Sham is the 51st stakes winner for Not A Single Doubt and the first Group winner bred duplicating an influential female.

Summer Sham is inbred 4 x 4 to Danzig but perhaps of more interest her 3 x 3 duplication of Shantha's Choice (Canny Lad).Summer Sham

Shantha's Choice left five stakes winners including Group I winners Redoute's Choice (Danehill) and Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago).

With Not A Single Doubt a son of Redoute's Choice, Summer Sham gets her duplication through her granddam Unspoken Choice (Giant's Causeway), an unraced daughter of Shantha's Choice.

There are four stakes performers bred with duplications of Shantha's Choice with two stakes winners in Summer Sham and New Zealand Listed winner Manhattan Street (Manhattan Rain).

Newgate Farm offer a filly at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in April which is 2 x 2 to brother and sister Redoute's Choice and Monsoon Wedding, the filly by Snitzel out of the Group III South Australian Fillies Classic winner Precious Lorraine.
