Widden Bred and Sold – Arts Object 60th SW for Zoustar

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 7

Widden Stud’s champion sire Zoustar posted his 60th stakes-winner at Eagle Farm on Saturday when five year-old mare Arts Object did best in a thriller to win the Listed BRC Tails Stakes (1500m) by a short half head.

Trained by Kurt Goldman and ridden by Angela Jones, Arts Object got under the guard of punters following some indifferent recent form, but produced a determined finish to snatch victory right on the line.

Arts Object was a $100,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Widden Stud draft and has six wins and four placings from 28 starts with prizemoney topping $610,000.

Arts Object was a $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from Widden Stud.

She was re-offered in the Late Alan Cardy Dispersal on Inglis Digital in December 2022 and was returned to Goldman after selling for $55,000 with the Bodacious Syndicate now racing the talented mare with her owners including Sky presenter and racing expert Paul Joice.

Bred by Widden in partnership, Arts Object is a half-sister to Macau Derby winner Simon Fubuki and is one of three winners from Ringhals, an unraced Street Cry (IRE) daughter of Group I winner Black Mamba.

Arts Object is the seventh Australian stakes-winner this season for Zoustar, who is a stalking second to Pride of Dubai on the Australian General Sires List by earnings.
