10 and the Million for Spirit Of Boom

Craig Tompson - Wednesday February 21
The Spirit Of Boom show kept rolling at the Gold Coast on Wednesday with his 10th winner and progeny earnings topping the million dollars.

Boomsara as a yearlingThe Chris Munce trained Boomsara was always the short priced favourite for his debut and never gave supporters any real cause for concern.

Despite racing a little greenly in the middle stages it didn't take him long to show he was a grade above his opposition in the straight, accelerating impressively and went to the line seemingly with something in hand to win comfortably.

Spirit Of Boom has been the standout performer amongst the current crop of first season sires with his ten winners and four stakes winners seeing him a mile ahead of the nearest contender on that score and he sits second on the earnings table to Zoustar, with that duo totally dominating the prizemoney list.

Boomsara is the fourth foal of Passara (by Tsuimai) and was purchased by his trainer Chris Munce for $45,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale from the draft of Eureka Stud.

The success of Spirit Of Boom is likely to be a boon for the same March Yearling Sale this year which starts at the Gold Coast on March 19 with 42 yearlings catalogued.
