With a plethora of racing all over Australia on Cup Day there were opportunities aplenty and Vinery Stud’s value sire Headwater made his mark with a new stakes-winner on Perth at Ascot where three year-old filly London’s Image captured the Listed WATC Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m).
Trained by Ryan Hill, London’s Image was having her first crack at stakes company and scored a neck win to take her overall record to three wins and two placings from nine starts with prizemoney just shy of $170,000.
A $20,000 Magic Millions Adelaie purchase from the Holbrook Thoroughbreds draft for her trainer, London’s Image was bred by Peters Investments and is the best of four winners from stakes-winning More Than Ready (USA) mare New Image, a now pensioned full sister to Group I winner Perfect Reflection and Group III winner Ideal Image.
London’s Image is the eighth stakes-winner for Headwater, who stands at a fee of $9,900.
