The
Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale on February 15 received a boost on
Sunday with sales graduate Mystic Journey winning the Listed Elwick Stakes for
two year-olds and bringing a timely pedigree update for sales bound full
sister.
The Adam Trinder trained daughter of young Encosta de Lago stallion Needs
Further made it three wins in as many starts when surging clear for a three-quarter
length win in the 1100 metre sprint.
A modest MM Tasmanian yearling sale purchase for her trainer from the Armidale
Stud draft, Mystic Journey has won nearly $100,000 in prizemoney.
She is the best of two winners from White Gold, whose current yearling filly by
Needs Further will be offered by Armidale Stud as Lot 2.
The biggest vendor this year at MM Tasmania with 40 entries is
the Whishaw family's Armidale Stud, whose promising young sire Needs Further
is the most represented sire with 22 entries.
Mystic Journey is the second stakes' winner for Needs Further joining Pateena
Arena.
