Day Two of NZB’s 2024 Ready to Run Sale Breeze Ups saw a further 178 two-year-olds gallop down the home straight at Te Rapa Racecourse with an average time of 10.72 reached.
Leading vendor for the past seven years, Sam Beatson of Riversley Park, has celebrated the success of dual-Group One winning graduate Ceolwulf (NZ) (Tavistock) recently and is looking forward to presenting another quality draft this year.
“We’ve breezed 47 horses over the last two days and we’re very happy,” Beatson commented.
“The track’s played fair and the horses have put their best foot forward. I think we’ve got some lovely horses here.”
Sydney-based bloodstock agent Andrew Williams attended both days of the Breeze Ups and confirmed the quality on display made the trip worthwhile.
“I think everyone can be upbeat given the quality of horses on show.”
“There are plenty of lovely horses by the right stallions, that have been well-educated and breezed up smartly over the past two days.
“You’d think that there would be some genuine racehorses coming out of the Sale this year,” added Williams.
NZB Managing Director Andrew Seabrook was delighted with the conditions over the past few days.
“The past two days here at Te Rapa have gone smoothly, showcasing a catalogue full of quality horses.”
“It’s a credit to the preparers of these two-year-olds that they have conducted themselves so well and reflects the professionalism and skill that New Zealand’s horsemen and women are renowned for.
“We can now look forward to getting them up to Karaka for the Sale in November.”
