2024 Cox Plate Field and Barrier Draw - Via Sistina Still in

The 2024 Cox Plate field and barriers are out for Saturday’s $5million weight-for-age championship.

Nine runners have been declared for the big race including Via Sistina who stumbled in her Tuesday morning gallop, dislodging rider James McDonald, and subsequently galloping three laps of Moonee Valley before being caught.

Via Sistina remains in the Cox Plate after Tuesday's training mishap

Trainer Chris Waller reported the mare unhurt after his and Racing Victoria vets inspected her, and will use all the time available to decide if she will take her place.

The race includes crowd favourites Pride Of Jenni and Mr Brightside with Godolphin three year-old Broadsiding, while Japan’s Prognosis and England’s Docklands will represent the internationals.
