Caroline Searcy’s thoroughbred re-homing program Thoroughbreds Are Go returns to Australian TV screens this Monday night at 7.30pm AEDST on Sky Thoroughbred Central, Foxtel Channel 528.
Focussing on educating racing’s owners about the best way to find great homes for their thoroughbreds away from the racing and breeding industry and getting advice from equestrian experts about the best way to care for this incredible breed in their new lives, Thoroughbreds Are Go will run for 5 episodes through the Sydney and Melbourne Spring Racing Carnivals.
The return episode features the Racing NSW second annual Equimillion competition and the Thoroughbreds Are Go sponsored rider Hannah Marsland on Choisir gelding, Burnt Patch. There’s an in-depth look at the fantastic racing industry after-care program run by WA Racing in Western Australia. Plus, a look at retired stallion Testa Rossa at Vinery Stud in Arrowfield Stud’s “Beyond The Winning Post – Where Are They Now.”
In coming weeks, the program will feature experienced eventing competitor and coach Jess Somerfield who offers ongoing instruction for young riders who take on thoroughbreds she has re-trained. Sky Racing’s Ally Mosely and her Gerry Harvey bred gelding James, now known as Gerry and tips on caring for off-track horses. Former Sky presenter and regular thoroughbred re-trainer and successful show rider Jo McKinnon and her thoughts on Australian thoroughbred after-care and much more.
Thoroughbreds Are Go is a great promotional program advocating for the thoroughbred breed away from racing with plenty of information to help humans and horses in the next steps in the careers of all thoroughbreds whether in the competitive environment or simply as companion animals.
