Chairman's Sale Entries Building

Media Release - Tuesday February 6

The Inglis Revolution will continue with the hugely successful Chairman's Sale in April, following on from a stellar first edition of the sale a year ago.

Some of the southern hemisphere's best mares, weanlings and stallion shares will be offered to the strongest buying bench Australasia has to offer on Thursday April 12, a day after the conclusion of the Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

The inaugural Chairman's Sale in 2017 was a phenomenal success, grossing more than $23million at an average of $330,000 and a clearance rate of 87%.

The 2018 Chairman's Sale catalogue is already taking shape, with the likes of Arrowfield, Coolmore, Yarraman Park, Milburn Creek, Newgate Farm, Willow Park, Bhima Thoroughbreds, Aquis Farm and Newhaven Park already confirming their support of the sale with high quality entries, while Waratah Thoroughbreds has also entered a world-class consignment of 11 horses as part of its broodmare dispersal.

A full sister to 2YO SW Ennis Hill has been entered for the Chairman's SaleEntries already received include weanlings by Snitzel, Vancouver, Pride of Dubai, Dissident, Shooting to Win, Fastnet Rock and Press Statement while mares in foal to the likes of Fastnet Rock, Snitzel, American Pharoah, Capitalist, Sebring, Pierro and Exceed and Excel and I am Invincible will be offered.

Godolphin's Racing and Bloodstock Manager Jason Walsh was looking forward to the sale coming around again.

"The inaugural Inglis Chairman's Sale exceeded our expectations in 2017,'' Walsh said.

"We were able to sell all four of the quality mares we offered for healthy results and it was clear that even in the sale's first year, it was definitely embraced by the market.

"A select sale of this nature provides opportunities for both vendors and purchasers and particularly with the move to the new Riverside complex, the appeal of The Chairman's Sale will only be enhanced as it cements its place on the Australian bloodstock calendar.''

Yarraman Park's Harry Mitchell was also full of praise for the sale.

"You can't hide from the facts – the Chairman's Sale was a resounding success in its first year and Yarraman will absolutely be involved at this year's and are genuinely looking forward to it,'' Mitchell said.

The 2018 Chairman's Sale (Breeding Prospects) will be held at Riverside Stables on Thursday April 12.

Entries for the sale close Friday 23rd February. The Inglis Bloodstock team are available to discuss possible entries with interested parties over the course of the Classic Sale.
