An electrifying performance from the Justify (USA) filly Ramatuelle, who demolished a quality field of sprinters in the Group 1 Qatar Prix de la Foret Presente par Education Above All (1400m) at Longchamp and stamped her ticket to the Breeders Cup Mile.
Ridden by Aurelien Lemaitre for Christopher Head, Ramatuelle enjoyed the run of the race in fourth or fifth but ran into traffic problems at the 300m. Desperate for clean air after almost stopping in her tracks, Ramatuelle rocketed home to defeat the favourite Kinross (Kingman) by three lengths, with Beauvatier (Lope De Vega) three-quarters of a length back in third.
Ramatuelle is now expected to head to Del Mar for the Breeders’ Cup Mile.
"I love that filly," Head enthused.
"She really deserved that run today and I'm so happy that she got it, now we will be able to go to the Breeders' Cup.
"Wow, wow, did you see that? It was mad.
"She did it in the Guineas at the beginning of the season and she's still capable of doing it. She's going to do even better next year, she's looking nice and getting better and better with time.
"There was a strong field today, with all the older horses she's beaten, it's crazy. She really coped with it (the ground). The Justifys pretty much go on every ground so it's really a pleasure to train those horses.
"I really want to thank all the owners and Tony Parker for everything that they've done and the confidence that they've got in the stable because it's been a chaotic year.
“I'm so happy to win today for them and I hope it will continue in the future. Tony Parker really has a strong mindset and I'm very happy to have him around me to help me with the management and the winning mindset."
The winner of the he Group II Prix Robert Papin (1200m) at Chantilly and runner-up in the Group 1 Prix Morny at two, Ramatuelle had been placed ion all three starts this season including thirds in the Group 1 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Ascot.
Bred by Yeguada Centurion SLU, Ramatuelle was sold as a yearling at the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale for 100,000 euros and runs for a syndicate that includes Infinity Nine Horses, the bloodstock investment business of NBA All Star Tony Parker.
The daughter of Justify (USA) is the first winner for multiple Group winning sprinter Raven’s Lady, honoured as the Champion German Sprinter of 2018. By Raven’s Pass, Raven’s Lady comes from the family of Group I winner Best of the Bests and high-class Group winning stayer Prince of Arran.
