Tough staying import Land Legend (Fr) got the ball rolling for his legendary sire Galileo when taking out the Group I ATC The Metropolitan at Randwick on Saturday and then overnight in France he sired two more Group I winners and a Group II winner for good measure.

At the warm up meeting at Longchamp ahead of tomorrow’s Arc de Triomphe, Aidan O’Brien and Galileo were unstoppable in the staying feature races.
Glamour stayer Kyprios has been flawless this year and made it six wins on the trot in 2024 when taking the Group I Prix du Cadran (4000m) as a short priced favourite.
The Group I Prix de Royallieu (2800m) for fillies and mares was won by progressive three year-old filly Grateful, who was having her first try at G1 level after winning the Group III Stanerra Stakes earlier this year. She became the 103rd G1 winner for Galileo.
The Group II Prix Chaudenay (3000m) for three year-olds was won by Illinois, who was a last start second to in the Group I Doncaster StLeger to Jan Brueghel. He’s a half-brother to Arc winner Danedream and while he hasn’t won a G1 yet, it’s probably only a matter of time!
