Olympian Shenae Lowings a Winner at Equimillion on Friday

Tara Madgwick - Friday October 4

Dressage classes took centre stage at Equimillion on Friday at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre and one of the most interesting winners was Sheane Lowings, who represented Australia at the Paris Olympics earlier this year and is forging a good partnership with up and coming young thoroughbred Yiyi.

Formerly trained by Chris Waller, Yiyi was a  $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft for Hermitage Thoroughbreds Pty Ltd / Chris Waller Racing and the son of No Nay Never (USA) proved a tough and consistent competitor winning over $480,000 in prizemoney with multiple city wins to his credit.

Yiyi is a star on the rise for Olympian Shenae Lowings.

The seven year-old gelding is showing real promise as an eventer and won both of his dressage tests on Friday in the Novice Open class to take the overall first place for that division.

He will be seen in action over the next two days as the eventing phase of the competition gets underway with dressage again tomorrow followed by showjumping and cross country on Sunday.
