Stakes-Winner for Flying Artie

Tara Madgwick - Thursday October 3

Blue Gum Farm’s Flying Artie posted his first stakes-winner of the new season on Wednesday when consistent five year-old gelding Vast Art won the Listed Hannans Handicap (1400m) at Kalgoorlie.

Trained by Darren McAuliffe, Vast Art was a stakes-winner at three and although winless last season was placed on multiple occasions so was overdue to break back to winning form.

Vast Art was retained to race by Impressive Racing and partners and is the best of four winners from winning Fastnet Rock mare Fast Gal, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Donna Dior.
