The Champion New Zealand 2YO of 2019/2020, exciting young sire Cool Aza Beel started his own career with a debut victory as a spring juvenile in September and there are early indications his first offspring are showing similar precocity.

Cool Aza Beel went on to win the Karaka Million (1200m) and Group I Sistema Stakes (1200m) earning the brilliant son of Savabeel a place at stud in Australia with the Kelly family at Newhaven Park and his first crop of two year-olds include two recent trial winners.

Produced at the Doomben barrier trials earlier this week, the Peter Sinclair trained filly Sequel scored a neck win in her 840m heat running a second quicker than the other juvenile heat at this trial session. She hit the line hard doing her best work on the line.

Sequel is a homebred for Emmanuel Bloodstock and is a half-sister to a winner from well bred Bernardini (USA)mare Couvre Lit, a who comes from the family of Group winners Pinwheel, Gamay and Dirty Work.

Couvre Lit went back to Cool Aza Beel again the following year so has a yearling full brother to Sequel to follow.

Cool Aza Beel is also on the board with an impressive trial winner in New Zealand.

Cool Aza Rene was bred in Australia at Newhaven Park and purchased by David Ellis at  Magic Millions Book 2 from their draft for $55,000. Sent back to New Zealand she stepped out at the Arawa Park trials.

Cool Aza Rene was ridden by Opie Bosson on behalf of the Mark Walker & Sam Bergerson training partnership. The precocious filly was always in control of the open juvenile heat which was conducted on a Heavy 10 surface.

Cool Aza Rene is the first foal of Irene, an unraced Xtravagant grand-daughter of Champion 2YO Filly Hasna. She returned to Cool Aza Beel last year and produced a lovely colt foal on August 19.

Cool Aza Beel has 84 juveniles to run for him this season and some have already been named and entered the stables of our leading trainers.

Cool Aza Beel stands this spring at a fee of $16,500.
