123 Melbourne Cup Entries

Entries for the Melbourne Cup have been revealed with 123 contenders that include 39 bred in Australia or New Zealand.

Kiwi bred Queensland Derby winner Warmonger is in the Melbourne Cup entries.

Last seasons Group I classic winners Warmonger, Coco Sun, Zardozi and Riff Rocket are among the entries along with superstar import Via Sistina (IRE), whose champion trainer Chris Waller has the most entries with 21.

Ciaron Maher also has a big hand in the race with 16 entries including Sydney Cup winner Circle of Fire (GB), while Anthony and Sam Freedman have entered last year’s winner Without a Fight (IRE) and expensive Yulong owned mare Place du Carrousel (IRE).
