The Foals are Coming Thick and Fast

Breednet - Friday August 30

The foals are coming thick and fast now at the end of August so here’s a look at some of our favourites this week including a few by first season sires.

Two-time Group One winner Jacquinot showed he’s let down into a magnificent type during the Hunter Valley parades last week and there’s be plenty of interest in his first foals coming now.

This colt is the first foal of Shalaa mare All Sassed Up.

Best Of Bordeaux was the highest rated 2YO colt of his generation and likewise plenty of interest in his first foals, which so far would have Coolmore Stud more than satisfied.

This colt out of Whisper Bay at Warrah Park, bred by David and Sally Lowe.

Arrowfield Stud’s three-time Derby winning hero Hitotsu is another having his first foals this year.

This colt is the first foal of Capitalist mare Noble Peony, bred by John Simmons and photographed at Coolmore.

Another interesting foal, this time from the Gr1 Queensland Oaks winner Gondokoro by Johannes Vermeer (IRE), pictured at Wyadup Valley Farm in Western Australia.

And another Group One winning mare, First Seal has produced this eye-catching filly by Russian Revolution, photographed at Vinery Stud.

Given the way the Ole Kirk yearlings looked and sold this year there’ll be plenty of anticipation when they start to hit the track and plenty of hope for those who supported him in his third season.

This well-related colt is out of Mhaille, a half-sister by I Am Invincible to two-time Gr1 winner Artorius.
