Stars Come Out at Coolmore

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 26

The annual Coolmore stallion parades on Sunday drew a large gathering with a sprinkling of rain failing to dampen spirits as this power packed roster of truly outstanding sires was presented to breeders, owners and the racing fraternity with several leading trainers in attendance including Chris Waller, the trainer of exciting newcomer Shinzo.

Golden Slipper winner Shinzo was foaled and raised at Coolmore and commences his stud career at a fee of $55,000.

Chris Waller prepared not only Shinzo, but also another Coolmore young gun in Home Affairs, whose first yearlings will be selling in 2025.

Coolmore legend Fastnet Rock might be enjoying retirement, but his young son Acrobat opened the parade and stands at a fee of $13,750.

Pride of Dubai is the sire of superstar mares Pride of Jenni and Bella Nipotina and may be the best value sire in Australia priced at $22,000.

Debbie Kepitis and her family were given Coolmore's Breeder of the Year Award with their many stars including Champion 3YO elect Riff Rocket.

Pierro made headlines in 2024 as the sire of the $10million yearling filly from Winx and this year will be covering a significant number of mares coming across from Arrowfield Stud.

2021 European Horse of the Year St Mark's Basilica (Fr) has the profile of a champion sire of the future and is priced at $38,500.

So You Think lauded as 'the most beautiful thoroughbred of them all' by parade host James Bester.

Wootton Bassett (GB) closed the parade and all eyes were on this charismatic stallion from the get go.

Rain did not dampen spirits at this year's parades.

Wootton Bassett (GB) is the best proven sire to come to Australia in a long time and there is much anticipation surrounding his first locally bred 2YO's this season.
