New Zealand Bloodstock's National Yearling Sales, which begin on Sunday, will mark
the end of an era for Sir Patrick, a member of both the Australian and New
Zealand Racing Halls Of Fame.
It will be his last Karaka auction as a major vendor following the sale of his iconic Cambridge Stud to Brendan and Jo Lindsay.
New Zealand Bloodstock Chairman Joe Walls will make a presentation to Sir Patrick in recognition of Cambridge Stud's significant achievements at the sales.
Cambridge Stud was the leading vendor for an unbroken 32 years and sold more than 1600 yearlings between 1978 and 2017 for an aggregate of just under $260 million with 11 of those individual lots selling for $1 million or more.
All coverage of Karaka Book 1 will be televised live on a pop-up channel, Sky 263, and the full seven-day sale will also be streamed live on the New Zealand Bloodstock website ( www.nzb.co.nz ) and through its Facebook page. The entire Monday session will also be televised live on racing.com along with other day highlights.
A half-hour sales preview show will also be televised on channel 263 before the commencement of selling on each of the four days of the Book 1.
