Two Bays Farm Secure Zoe's Promise for $200,000

Media Release - Wednesday August 7

Talented race mare Zoe’s Promise (Swear) will be retired immediately and bred to this season after topping today’s Inglis Digital August (Early) Online Sale.

Offered by Australian Bloodstock on behalf of her owners, Zoe’s Promise sold to Two Bays Farm for $200,000.

Two Bays’ Ross Ferris – who recently sold Harmony Rose through Inglis Digital for $400,000 and has also bought the likes of G1 placegetter Nudge off the platform – described Zoe’s Promise as “an incredible opportunity’’.

“I couldn’t go past her fantastic race record, including her G2 win at Moonee Valley and these super consistent, elite race mares are really hard to buy,’’ Ferris said.

“We will breed to her this season but I don’t have an exact plan as to who will serve her yet, we’ll work that out in the near future.

“Inglis Digital, it’s just too easy to spend money on! I find it very easy to use, Inglis do a great job with it, it really is a great asset for thoroughbred owners and sellers in Australia and globally.’’

Today’s second-top lot was the young Willow Park Stud-offered broodmare Glimmering (Kingman), with a Justify filly foal at foot, which sold for $165,000.

The third-top lot was Just Watch Me (Deep Field), who like Zoe’s Promise will be immediately retired and bred to this season.

Offered by trainer Lindsey Smith on behalf of the horse’s owners, Just Watch Me sold to Kenmore Lodge for $115,000.

“We were out a long way before she sold, the budget didn’t have $115,000 in it when we looked to buy her but we own the sister who has been good to us so we thought we may as well push things and expand the family,’’ Kenmore’s Kellie Bond said.

“She’ll possibly go to Pierata I think. We’ll make a final decision before too long.’’

Healing Oasis (Oasis Dream), which sold to Bell View Park Stud for $105,000, was the fourth lot of the sale to realise six figures.

She was offered by First Light Racing, whose Director Tim Wilson said: “The owners aren’t breeders but they had the opportunity to offer her for sale immediately through Inglis Digital and get a timely result so it’s great for them.

“She’s off to a great home in Bell View Park so she’ll get every chance in the breeding barn which is all you can hope for.’’

Bell View Park’s Adam Mackrell is yet to decide which stallion Healing Oasis will first visit but did confirm the mare would be retired and sent to stud this season.

“She’s run her last race but that’s about as far as I’ve got, I haven’t work out which stallion she’ll visit yet but the good thing about her is she’ll suit plenty of stallions which is handy,’’ Mackrell said.

“We use Inglis Digital quite a lot, I’ve bought lots of mares on there and sold plenty as well, it’s just really straight forward, it makes life so much easier.’’

In total the August (Early) Sale grossed $2,291,650.

The number of $100,000+ lots sold through Inglis Digital so far in 2024 has now reached 74. They have been bought by 63 individual buyers.

Entries are now open for the August (Late) Sale, which will run from August 16-21.

Entries for that sale will remain open until midnight next Wednesday, August 14.
