Zoustar Equals History and Has Also Made It!

Tara Madgwick - Monday July 29

Two new Australian winners on Monday courtesy of Newzou (Pakenham ) and Madame Meteor (Albury) have brought Widden Stud’s champion sire Zoustar to 208 winners for the season which equals the Australian record set by I Am Invincible in 2021, but on the score of season wins Zoustar is history maker on that count by daylight!

Zoustar’s 208 winners have collected a whopping 363 wins at a seasonal strike rate of 56.5% winner to runner. The previous record for wins was also held by I Am Invincible at 338 wins and was set last year in the 2023/2024 season when he sired 202 winners.

With two more days of the season to run Zoustar has 13 runners that have accepted for races on Tuesday and Wednesday and while not all are potentially new winners this season they do raise the possibility of him achieving something really special.

If he gets two winners to bring his tally to 365 winners, Zoustar will have averaged a winner a day for the year…. Astonishing!
