Bella Khadijah Makes it Ten for Pierata

Mark Smith - Saturday July 27

After placing in three of her four starts, Bella Khadijah broke the ice in Saturday’s Mount Franklin Hcp (1350m) at Doomben and credited Pierata with his tenth winner.

Ridden by Jag Guthmann-Chester for Peter Robl, Bella Khadijah came with a barnstorming finish to defeat the favourite Savour The Dream (Super Seth) by three-quarters of a length with Data Scramble (Encryption) back in third.

An $80,000 purchase for Peter Robl Racing from the Fernrigg Farm draft at the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Bella Khadijah is the first foal of the stakes-placed Viscount mare Mouquet.

A 4-time winner in Perth, Mouquet is out of a half-sister to the Listed Wyong Cup winner and Group 1 Queensland Oaks third Aphasia.

Paul Cave purchased Mouquet’s King’s Legacy colt for $10,000 at the 2024 Inglis HTBA Yearling Sale. She was covered by Tiger Of Malay last spring.

Yulong’s first-season stallion Pierata has nine winners in Australia and one in New Zealand.

The Group 1 winning son of Pierro stands for $66,000 in 2024.
