Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 15
The Magic Millions 2YO Classic might be done and dusted for another year, but there’s a new batch of babes waiting in the wings with races such as the Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond still to come, so let’s take a closer look at an Inglis Easter graduate that scored an easy trial win on Monday morning at Warwick Farm.

Brazilica as a yearlingChampion trainer Chris Waller has turned things around this year in putting more focus on his two year-olds and Redoute’s Choice filly Brazilica looks a likely type to continue his growing success.

She jumped fast for Hugh Bowman and then eased to settle three wide in third place just behind the leaders and when asked to lengthen stride over the final furlong quickly forged clear to win by two lengths in 48.10 seconds.

A $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Cameron Cooke Bloodstock from the Arrowfield Stud draft, Brazilica is the third foal of Group I VRC Oaks winner Brazilian Pulse, whose previous two foals have made little impression, but maybe it will be third time lucky for this former very good racemare.

Other juvenile trial winners were Greysful Glamour (Stratum), Osorno (Exceed and Excel) and Exceltic (Excelebration (IRE). Click here to watch the trials.
