A champion miler at three that won four Group I races, Kingman has been a sire on fire this year with two new classic winners to his credit in Group I Newmarket One Thousand Guineas winner Elmalka and Group I Chantilly Prix de Diane winner Sparkling Plenty following on from Zardozi, who won the Group I VRC Oaks last spring.

He also has a new season two year-old stakes-winner in the UK in Celandine, who holds an entry for the Group II Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.

Kingman is currently running second to only Lope de Vega on the leading 2024 European Sires List by Prizemoney and was priced at Juddmonte Farms this year at £125,000.

Victorian breeders are fortunate to have access to his Group I winning son King Colorado this spring and he is priced to please at $16,500.

King Colorado is the only Group I winning two year-old colt among 12 Group I winners by Kingman and is also his only son at stud in Australia this spring.

Trained by Ciaron Maher, King Colorado came to hand quickly winning the Group I BRC JJ Atkins at just his third start and was Group placed in elite company at three including a gallant fourth in the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas in which he finished ahead of Group I winning colts Militarize and Southport Tycoon.

If female pedigrees make stallions, then King Colorado has that box ticked being from stakes-winning More Than Ready mare More Aspen (USA), a grand-daughter of Group I winner Northern Aspen, whose dam is legendary blue hen Fall Aspen.

It’s the pedigree of a stallion that would meet approval in either hemisphere and is famed for producing Dubai Millennium, sire of breed shaper Dubawi.

Completely free of Danehill blood, King Colorado looms as an appealing partner for a wide variety of mares.
