Familiar Pedigree Makes Early Running at JRHA Select Sale

A colt from the family of Saturday’s Listed Belmont Oaks heroine Petrouchka made the early running as the yearling session of the JRHA Select Sale got underway at Northern Horse Park, Hokkaido on Monday.

Consigned by Northern Farm, the son of Epiphaneia from the Group 1 Irish Oaks heroine Even So, was a ?340million (A$3.1m) purchase for Fujita Susumu (lot 24).

A daughter of Camelot (IRE), Even So is out of the Danehill mare Breeze Hill (IRE), a winner in New Zealand and a three-quarter sister to Petrouchka’s dam Twinkle Toes (IRE).

price was battered 24 lots later when Masahiro Noda's Danox Co.Ltd purchased another son of Epiphaneia for ?390,000,000 (A$3.6m. (lot 51).

A half-brother to the top-class Danon Beluga and stakes-placed Bond Girl (Daiwa Major), the colt is out of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies runner-up Coasted (Tizway).

 

Life House Co. Ltd purchased the half-brother of the champion Lys Graciuex by Real Steel for ?98,000,000 (A$905,000).
