The Australian racing season has one more month to run and the Listed Bunbury South West Cup (22200m) on Sunday gave Toronado (IRE) a chance to post a new stakes-winner with seven year=old gelding Come Right Back taking the prize.
Trained by Adam Durant , he started at 25-1, but was tenacious to the line to win by half a length taking his overall record to 11 wins and 10 placings from 48 starts with prizemoney topping $573,000.
Retained to race by his breeder, Come Right Back is the best of three winners from Tigee Hill (IRE) mare Sense of Purpose, a seven time metro winning full sister to stakes-winner Cehster Road.
He is the 38th stakes-winner for Toronado, who stands at Swettenham stud at a fee of $88,000.
