$380,000 Fabergino Tops June (Late) Sale

Media Release - Wednesday June 26

High-class sprinting mare Fabergino topped today’s Inglis Digital June (Late) Sale, selling to Perth businessman Frank Fiore for $380,000.

Fabergino was offered by Jim and Trish Anderson and John Beesley - in foal to exciting young stallion Too Darn Hot - and was the subject of significant interest from multiple bidders before finally selling to Fiore.

In foal to Too Darn Hot (GB), Fabergino sold for $380,000.

It’s a family Fiore has a lot of time for, having paid $250,000 for Fabergino’s maiden filly foal by Wootton Bassett at this year’s Easter Yearling Sale.

Bidding while on holidays in Italy, Fiore admitted he didn’t have another bid left in him.

“It was the end of the road for me, I had nothing left in the tank,’’ Fiore said.

“Traditionally I’ve bought to race but possibly I’ll switch strategy from time to time moving forward and sell, I won’t make any of those decisions until well down the track.

“I’ll have a good think as to who I send the mare to after we foal down the Too Darn Hot, I mean Wootton Bassett has to be a consideration, I obviously loved the filly at Easter so she may well head back there, we’ll see.’’

Jim Anderson was delighted with the outcome.

“We’re over the moon, truly, we’re very happy, it’s a wonderful result,’’ Anderson said.

“She’s gone to a really good home too in Frank, which is just as important as getting a good price.

“With a good mare like her I wanted a broad range of buyers to see her so I thought we’d try Inglis Digital and what a wonderful experience it’s been.

“Sinead [Flannery] was excellent to deal with, very professional and we got a great result, so we couldn’t be happier.’’

Fabergino was one of four horses to realise $100,000 or more in today’s June (Late) Sale including Prairie Flower ($150,000), Divine Glory ($115,000) and Pouting Lips ($105,000).

In total the sale grossed $2,745,200.
