Winning Treble Boosts Nadeem

Media Release - Monday July 24

Nadeem's reputation as a highly consistent sire of winners received further reinforcement with a winning double and a second place-getter from his three Australian starters on Friday, followed by another winner on Saturday.

NadeemGroup 2 winner Happy Galaxy ( Nadeem - by Kings Best), having just his second start after a lengthy spell, won the feature event at Geelong over 1000m for jockey Michael Walker and Victoria's leading trainers David Hayes and Tom Dabernig.

Tough stayer Riyadh (Darci Brahma-Tempestra by O'Reilly) and exciting prospect Portman (Makfi-Farasha by Jeune), both sold as yearlings from LA sale drafts, gave the farm a notable double at Flemington on Saturday.

Riyadh, bought by Beamish Bloodstock from LA's 2011 Karaka Premier draft, won the opening event over 2000m, and Portman, a half brother to dual Group 3 winning Nadeem mare Sharnee Rose, was purchased from our 2014 Sydney Easter draft by Danny O'Brien Racing.

Closer to home, LA featured as breeder of two winners at the Ruakaka meeting on Saturday. Dancing Light (Darci Brahma-Danse Sauvage by Montjeu), bred in partnership with Don Gordon, was a four length winner over 1200m while later in the programme, Money Trail (Per Incanto-Nikki's Bride by O'Reilly), also bred in partnership with Don, and Bryan Hutchinson, was a deserving winner, also over 1200m. Dancing Light was sold from LA's 2015 Karaka Select Draft while Money Trail was sold on his breeders behalf by Beatson Stables at the 2014 Ready To Run Sale.

A successful weekends racing for LA concluded with Lectio Divinia's ( Per Incanto -Stadsmadad by Kaapstad) New Plymouth victory giving Per Incanto his 58th individual first crop winner, quite some achievement for the young stallion. And while beaten a nose in the $40,000 3YO event, the LA bred and part owned Keep It Savvy (Savabeel- Can't Keeper Down by Keeper) lost few admirers with a courageous performance especially from one so lightly raced.
