$525,000 Frankel Filly Starts Inglis Great Southern with a Bang

Tara Madgwick - Thursday June 13

Offered as Lot 7 at the Inglis Great Southern Sale on Thursday morning, Rosemont Stud’s quality Frankel filly from Abby Hatcher (IRE) made an early splash when selling for $525,000.

$525,000 Frankel filly from Abby Hatcher (IRE).

She was snapped up by astute New Zealand based investor Gary Harding and is the first foal of Abby Hatcher, a Group III  winning half-sister by Acclamation to stakes-winner Purciaretta.

Hatcher finished her racing career in North America where she won the Group III Arlington Park Chicago Stakes and was bought from the 2021 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale for $185,000 by Julian Blaxland.

Sent to the UK to be covered by Frankel, she was offered at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale last year by Rosemont Stud, but failed to make her $800,000 reserve and went back to Victoria.

She is now in foal to Bivouac.

Frankel had the highest priced weanling at this sale last year when Burnewang North sold a filly from Vedema (Fr) for $825,000 to Mitchell Bloodstock.
