Darryl Sherer Finds Three 2YO's to Follow from Flemington Jumpouts

Darryl Sherer - Monday January 8

Things are hotting up for the juveniles and some likely types were in action last Friday.

There were four heats for two-year-olds and all similar in time, the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Nasaayim marginally the fastest winning heat four.

Friday's jumpouts were on the inside grass, starting from the 1400m with the markers out four metres and riders reporting the ground in the Good(4) range.

Racenet has highlighted three unraced horses it may pay punters to follow in the coming weeks.

NASAAYIM (2f Redoute's Choice x Nocturnelle)

Nasaayim as a yearlingJumped from towards the outside in heat four and allowed to settle towards the rear as the Ellerton Zahra-trained Train The Brave and Anthony Freedman-trained Lapels set the speed. Travelling smoothly and split horses on the bend as Lapels dropped off, joining Train The Brave and easing clear to win by a length in 48.99 seconds, this pair pulling five lengths clear. Lindsay Park Racing-trained $650,000 yearling by Redoute's Choice out of the good mare Nocturnelle and she possesses plenty of scope for improvement.

PHONEME (2c Choisir x Hidden Message)

Chris Waller-trained colt by Choisir sold for $100,000 at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast sale. Jumped one from the outside in heat seven and always travelling smoothly to the outside of the Freedman-trained I Am Invincible colt and the Ellerton Zahra-trained Something Serious. Slight encouragement from Damien Oliver off the bend to join in and eased clear to defeat the unnamed colt by half a length in 49.01 seconds with the Danny O'Brien-trained Jarmanagic closing for third under Taylor Marshall.

DECLARATIONOFHEART (2c Declaration of War (USA) x Cardiac)

Jumped from the middle in heat 10 and allowed to balance up under Mark Zahra. Travelled strongly third two lengths behind the Waller-trained Ocean Park colt with the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Ben Hercules alongside to the bend. Allowed to roll forward off the bend as Ben Hercules was ridden clear and joined Ben Hercules inside the final strides, the pair through the line together in 49.09 seconds. Well grown colt by Declaration Of War and sold in New Zealand as a yearling for NZ$135,000, trained by Anthony Freedman.
