Impressive Debut Winner for Hello Youmzain

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 4

Cambridge Stud shuttler Hello Youmzain (Fr) sired an impressive debut winner overnight with Electrolyte continuing a hot run for Wathnan Racing when scoring easily at Ayr.

Trained by Archie Watson, Electrolyte was purchased for £220,000 by Blandford Bloodstock at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale in April and delivered an immediate return on investment when beating the favourite to win the six furlong maiden by more than two lengths.

uo;James [Doyle, jockey] gave Electrolyte a great ride and he did very well to get to the rail, he kept it very simple from the front. Archie [Watson, trainer] has done a great job and he picked the race out about three weeks ago and I couldn't be happier,” said Richard Brown, advisor to Wathnan Racing.

Electrolyte holds entries for several upcoming stakes races including Royal Ascot.

A pinhook success, Electrolyte was bought for 72,000 guineas at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 3 and is a half-brother to Group III winner Calderon being the fourth winner from Bibury, a winning half-sister to Group I Royal Ascot Gold Cup winner Rite of Passage.

Electrolyte is the fourth winner from nine starters for Hello Youmzain, who was well received at yearling sales in Australasia this year and had 34 yearlings sell in Karaka Book 1 at an average $171,324.
