Sir Owen Glenn and his Go Bloodstock has had some great results this year with his fillies that include Golden Slipper winner Lady of Camelot, but it was the turn of one of the older girls on Saturday with five year-old Not a Single Doubt mare Thalassophile returning to top form with a classy win in the $160,000 Listed Silk Stocking (1400m) at the Sunshine Coast.
Trained by Chris Waller and ridden by James McDonald, Thalassophile had top weight of 60kg, but with class on her side as a previous Group III winner and a well timed ride, she powered to the line in the wet ground to win by a length and a half.

“She found herself within four lengths of the leaders half way through the race and that was just the right spot.”
A homebred for Sir Owen Glenn that was foaled and raised at Newgate Farm, Thalassophile was offered and passed in as a yearling which has turned out a great decision as she has the overall record of six wins and 13 placings from 33 starts with prizemoney topping $800,000.
She is a three-quarter sister to Group III placed Maracaibo and is the best of three winners from unraced Spanish Lake, a half-sister by Encosta de Lago to Group I winner Calveen, Group II winner Kosi Bay, Group III winner Fireworks and stakes-winner Striker.
Spanish Lake has a yearling filly by Flying Artie and was covered last year by his son Artorius.
