Juvenile Trial Watch - Randwick

Breednet - Tuesday April 30

The trials were at Randwick on Tuesday morning with the juvenile trials featuring a million-dollar colt, a full brother to a Group One winner, and a couple on the way back after showing early potential.

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Braveheart has been seen at the trials four times now, but twice in this new preparation and looked solid both times, particularly this morning winning his heat.

Heat 7 results

He’s a full brother to Group 2 winner and $3.5million earner King Of Sparta and has half-sister, Penny For, by Zoustar set to sell at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in May.

Sovereign Hill created a huge impression at his only start when thumping a midweek field at Warwick Farm back in October.

Heat 9

He was given one trial in January but put aside again. He’s had two trials into this new preparation and would appear a youngster that can go places.

The winner of Heat 13, Steel Strike is a full brother to Group One winning mare September Run, by the recently pensioned Exceed And Excel from Pittsburgh Flyer, a mare bought by Go Bloodstock at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale for $500,000 in 2018.

Heat 13 results

Go Bloodstock had sold the first two subsequent foals, including Group 2 winner Steel City, however they have retained Steel Strike to race in their colours.

Snitzel colt, Volatile was very nice winning his heat with plenty in hand and looks a likely type to go on now and deliver some decent results after looking solid to date.

Heat 14 results

He was a winner at the official two-year-old trials last October and ran third favourite in the Breeders Plate where he finished 8th, however was much improved with a last start third in the Inglis Golden Gift.

Better to come it would appear.

Other winners on the day were Zealously (Harry Angel), Synergize (Strasbourg) and Singing Star (Star Turn).
