Fresh from siring his first Group I winner in ATC Australian Oaks winner Autumn Angel, The Autumn Sun has suffered a pelvic injury with Arrowfield Stud hopeful he will make a full recovery before the breeding season starts on September 1.
“The decision on his availability will be guided by veterinary advice with a focus on his long[1]term health and well-being,” Arrowfield said in a statement released on Tuesday night.
“Our veterinary team is confident that The Autumn Sun will make a full recovery. A further update on his progress will be made in due course.”
A champion son of Redoute’s Choice, The Autumn Sun is running second on the second crop sires list by winners with33 winners of $3.7million with star performers including Group winners Autumn Ballet, Vibrant Sun and the multiple Group I placed Tutta La Vita, who will be offered at The Chairman’s Sale.
He will also have a strong hand in the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on Saturday with likely runners Vibrant Sun, Coco Sun, Private Legacy, The Autumn Belle and Harvest Moon.
