This year there were 138 pinhooked yearlings sold at sales in Australia and New Zealand that returned $50,000 or more in profit and we’ve tabled the Top 21 above that had a profit of $200,000 or more and also looked at other relevant statistics on the successful horses.

The Edinburgh Park Dispersal at MM National last year proved a treasure trove of talent with Ian Smith offering some lovely weanlings that duly accounted  for three of the most successful pinhook results of the year.

The Snitzel filly from Serena Bay was the most successful pinhook of 2024.

Leading the way was the Snitzel filly from Serena Bay that was bought by Jim Carey for $480,000 and re-offered in the Newgate Farm draft at Magic Millions for $1.25million with Sheamus Mills Bloodstock the purchaser.
