A carefully curated group of broodmares will be offered in a standalone Inglis Digital auction next week as part of a Boutique Thoroughbreds dispersal.
The ‘Boutique Thoroughbreds Standalone Sale’ will feature Group winner Shoko (in foal to Home Affairs), proven producer Urban Rocket, the well-related Oh My Mimi (in foal to Capitalist), Charge Forward mare Face Forward (in foal to Spirit of Boom) and multiple Group winner and G1 placed mare Avenue.
All five lots will be offered unreserved to dissolve the partnership.
The catalogue will be live from 3pm this coming Friday at inglisdigital.com.
Bidding will open at 9am Monday (April 15) and the final countdown of bidding will begin from 4pm Tuesday (April 16).
Each of the five mares have significant highlights including:
Shoko - G3-winning mare, IF to Home Affairs. Her 2YO colt by I Am Invincible, Hakushu, realised $525,000 at the Easter Yearling Sale in 2023 and has shown real promise to date for trainer Stephen Marsh in New Zealand. Shoko is a half sister to G2 winner Mimi Lebrock (dam of G3 winner Barbaric and G3 placed Diddles) and G3 winner Heavenly Thought.
Avenue - Multiple Group winner and G1 placed mare. Her progeny have realised up to $740,000. She is a sister to multiple G1 winner Virage De Fortune.
Urban Rocket - Her So You Think yearling realised $550,000 at this week’s Easter Yearling Sale. She has a Kingman still to run for her and her Exceed And Excel 2YO – which is G3 raced and has form around Prost, Fearless, Gatsby’s and Roselyn’s Star etc - is raced by TFI/Kia Ora and is trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou.
Oh My Mimi - Daughter of G2 winner Mimi Lebrock. She’s a half sister to G2 winner Barbaric and a sister to the G3 placed Diddles, from the family of Shoko and Heavenly Thought. Her yearlings have realised up to $400,000. She still has a Lonhro and Zoustar filly to run for her and is offered IF to Capitalist, having had her Capitalist yearling filly realise $280,000 to the bid of Marsh Racing/Dylan Johnson Bloodstock at this week’s Easter Yearling Sale.
Face Forward - Offered IF to Spirit Of Boom, she’s a Victorian Metro winner who has had two foals to race that are both multiple winners.
Inglis Digital’s Nick Melmeth is excited to be offering such a quality line-up of mares at this time of the year.
“The traditional breeding stock sales are just around the corner, so to have a group of mares like this to bring to market is a fantastic opportunity for us and for buyers,” he said.
“Shoko is a beautiful mare who gets good-looking stock and the talk around the Home Affairs foals is incredibly positive.
“Avenue is a proven producer from an outstanding family, while Urban Rocket and Oh My Mimi are young mares with plenty of upside in their respective pedigrees.
Boutique Thoroughbreds’ Andrew Dunemann said: “It’s been a build-up of five years to get to this stage but a change in circumstances means there is a great opportunity for industry players to purchase quality stock that would not have presented to the market this early over the next month.’’
