A
trio of Australian bred winners saluted in South Africa on Tuesday with
victories for Fish River, Unrehearsed and Still I Rise, who has a half-brother headed
to the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.
Successful when scoring at Kenilworth over 1200 metres by more than two lengths
was three year-old Street Cry (IRE) filly Still I Rise, who posted her second
win from four starts for the Joey Ramsden stable.
An $80,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Eliza Park draft for Heywood Bloodstock,
she is from unraced Encosta de Lago mare Costa Mesa, a half-sister to dual
Group I winner and $4.5 million earner Zipping and stakes-winner Work the Room.
Sun Stud will offer the current yearling from Costa Mesa, a colt by Work the
Room’s sire Bel Esprit, at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale as Lot
317.
The Mike de Kock trained three year-old filly Fish River claimed her second win
at Turffontein with a three-quarter length victory over 1400 metres.
By Canford Cliffs (IRE) from Zabeea, she was a $130,000 Inglis Premier purchase
for Form Bloodstock from the draft of Rosemont Stud and was a successful
pinhook having been first bought by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock for $60,000 from
the Yarraman draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.
Also trained by Mike de Kock, four year-old New Approach (IRE) gelding
Unrehearsed won his second race from six starts when beating the favourite to
win over 1400 metres by a neck.
Bred and sold by Three Bridges, Unrehearsed was a $130,000 Inglis Premier
purchase for Form Bloodstock and is from well bred mare Bodacious Harmony. A daughter of Group I winner La Volta, Bodacious Harmony is a half-sister to
the dam of Group II winners Seaburge and Catch a Fire.
