Aussie Winners in South Africa

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday December 20
A trio of Australian bred winners saluted in South Africa on Tuesday with victories for Fish River, Unrehearsed and Still I Rise, who has a half-brother headed to the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Still I Rise as a yearlingSuccessful when scoring at Kenilworth over 1200 metres by more than two lengths was three year-old Street Cry (IRE) filly Still I Rise, who posted her second win from four starts for the Joey Ramsden stable.

An $80,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Eliza Park draft for Heywood Bloodstock, she is from unraced Encosta de Lago mare Costa Mesa, a half-sister to dual Group I winner and $4.5 million earner Zipping and stakes-winner Work the Room.

Sun Stud will offer the current yearling from Costa Mesa, a colt by Work the Room’s sire Bel Esprit, at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale as Lot 317.

The Mike de Kock trained three year-old filly Fish River claimed her second win at Turffontein with a three-quarter length victory over 1400 metres.

By Canford Cliffs (IRE) from Zabeea, she was a $130,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Form Bloodstock from the draft of Rosemont Stud and was a successful pinhook having been first bought by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock for $60,000 from the Yarraman draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

Also trained by Mike de Kock, four year-old New Approach (IRE) gelding Unrehearsed won his second race from six starts when beating the favourite to win over 1400 metres by a neck.

Bred and sold by Three Bridges, Unrehearsed was a $130,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Form Bloodstock and is from well bred mare Bodacious Harmony. A daughter of Group I winner La Volta, Bodacious Harmony is a half-sister to the dam of Group II winners Seaburge and Catch a Fire.
