$1.9million Zoustar Colt to Tom Magnier

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 7

Widden Stud’s champion sire Zoustar has his first million dollar yearling sold at Inglis Easter 2024 with Segenhoe Stud’s colt from Fundamentalist selling for $1.9million to the bid of Tom Magnier.

$1.9million Zoustar colt from Fundamentalist

Consigned by Segenhoe, the colt is the third and best foal so far from stakes-winning Not a Single Doubt mare Fundamentalist, who was also four times Group I placed and attracted spirited bidding before Tom Magnier prevailed.

“He was a standout in the Segenhoe draft and you look at that brand on his shoulder and that needs no introduction,” said Tom Magnier.

“He’s a lovely colt, very strong and a great mover. Chris Waller will train, so fingers crossed!”

The colt is bred on the same Zoustar x Not a Single Doubt cross that has produced stakes-winners Schwarz and Solar Star.

Fundamentalist has hit a home run in the sale ring with her Zoustar colt!

Fundamentalist was originally a $130,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase for Aquis/ Blue Sky Bloodstock and gave her owners plenty of thrills in a racing career that netted over $700,000 in prizemoney and while Aquis sold out of the mare at the conclusion of her racing career some of the other owners remain involved and are enjoying her stud career just as much!

Fundamentalist produced a colt by Home Affairs last spring, but will have no foal this year after missing to Anamoe.
