Rich Enuff Filly Siren Assault Takes Aim at Karrakatta Plate

Mark Smith - Saturday April 6

After the Frosted (USA) colt Bustling scored a dominant win as odds-on favourite in the Listed Amelia Park - Perth Stakes (1100m), it was the turn of the Rich Enuff filly Siren Assault to throw her hat in the ring for the Karrakatta Plate with an equally impressive performance in the Group III Furphy - Gimcrack Stakes (1100m) at Ascot.

A fourth consecutive win on the day for Chris Parnham, the Sean and Jake Casey-trained filly was never closer than three deep before striding clear to defeat the Leonardo Da Hinchi filly Golden Kathleen by one and a half lengths with Calyx (GB) filly Earthstorm back in third.

An $80,000 buy for Wally Daly's Yenrise Pty Ltd from the Morningside draft at the 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Siren Assault advances her record to two wins and two seconds from four starts with earnings of $175,360.

“I thought there was a chance we would be caught deep but I think she is better off there and kept in a rhythm rather than getting back in the ruck,” Chris Parnham said.

“To her credit she did it the tough way and was dominant.

“The Karakatta Plate should suit her down to the ground. She is a live chance.”

Bred by Morningside Park, Siren Assault is the first runner for the Excelebration (IRE) mare Rebel Assault (IRE), a stakes-winner of four races in Britain.

Siren Assault an $80,000 Inglis Premier yearling

A Brazen Beau half-brother to Siren Assault failed to make his $40,000 reserve at the 2024 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

After foaling a Home Affairs filly last spring, Rebel Assault (IRE) was covered by State Of Rest (IRE).

Siren Assault is the seventh stakes-winner for Woodside Park Stud’s Rich Enuff.
