Punters need to be wary at Goulburn on Friday working on a heavy (10) track but there are two runners that have the credentials to win in the conditions.
The Ron Weston and John Nisbet-trained Grey Storm has already shown a penchant for wet tracks in his eight starts to date winning his maiden at Wagga on July 9 on a heavy (9) track over 1000m with the mare finishing runner-up at Canberra on debut at her only other heavy track start.
Grey Storm didn't see out 1200m when out of the placings at Narrandera last start but is set to bounce back over the shorter journey in her preferred heavy conditions.
The Danny Williams-trained Vee Eight will put his wet track credentials on the line in the David Alt Electrical Class 2 Handicap (1200m).
Both Vee Eight's two career wins from 10 starts have come on tracks designated heavy (10) winning successive races at Wagga on Heavy (10) track in June 2016.
Vee Eight missed a place on heavy ground at Randwick resuming last start in a Highway Handicap but wasn't disgraced taking on class three company first-up and the effort looks a solid form reference for a class two at his home track with the run under his belt.
