The open juvenile event over 1350m at the metro meeting at Wyong on Wednesday had a short priced favourite in Just Party and the talented son of Justify (USA) delivered the goods for punters when striding clear to win by more than a length.
Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, Just Party was a good second on debut at Newcastle at the start of the month and kept up the good work to score a stylish win.
“He got the job done and is still learning. He led them up the other day and took a sit today, but getting around the corner the track looked a little tight for him, but he’s a nice horse that will be better at three,” said Gerald Ryan.
“He’s quite a character at home. You wouldn’t even know he was a colt.
“He’s by a super stallion in Justify out of a Group I winning mare and he only cost $110,000, which at Inglis Easter is quite a good buy.”
Consigned by Coolmore and bought by his trainers, Just Party has a big ownership group that were super happy after his win.
Foaled and raised at Coolmore, Just Party is the third winner from Group I winner The Party Stand and is a half-brother to Group III placed Petition and to the dam of this season’s Group II winning juvenile Bellatrix Star from the family of four time Group I winner Callsign Mav.
Heading into a massive Saturday of racing in Australia, Justify has the lead on the Australian 2YO Sires List and has the favourite in the Golden Slipper in Storm Boy.
