Royal International Result for Little Avondale's Per Incanto

Media Release - Tuesday December 12
Exposure on the international stage has provided Little Avondale Stud with another timely boost.

The good times continue to roll for the Wairarapa farm's resident stallion Per Incanto (USA), who will enjoy unprecedented representation at New Zealand Bloodstock's Yearling Sale series at Karaka next month.

And the recent success of Per Incanto's Hong Kong-based son Time To Celebrate was a massive fillip, studmaster Sam Williams said.

"To do it at Sunday's international meeting in front of pretty much all of the big owners around the world is just so important and great for us and New Zealand.

"Per Incanto has got two very good horses in Hong Kong, apart from Time To Celebrate there's also Morethanlucky, who's won three of his last four starts.

"Per Incanto has got a fantastic ability to upgrade mares, he's done it from second tier mares off a $4000 and $5000 fee and now he's got a new crop coming through off a $15,000 service fee.

"I've always said his horses will get better with age, and they are – the likes of Dolcetto, Shadows Cast and Sweepstake – and I'm so excited about his two-year-olds out there."

Per IncantoPer Incanto's numbers at Karaka in 2018 reflect the stallion's ongoing success.

"He's only had four K1 yearlings and three of them sold, one for $250,000," Williams said. "Next year he's got 17 in the Book 1 Sale, even Sir Patrick, who is selling his last draft, has one and it's a half-brother to Gift Of Power."

Little Avondale will offer eight Per Incanto yearlings in their Book 1 draft.

"The two stand-outs are Lot 670, a colt out of Tsukioka and he's a ripping type and a half-brother to Regency Bo Bo, who ran second in Hong Kong on international night," Williams said.

"The other one I really like is Lot 193 out of the More Than Ready mare Exposed.

"She's a lovely filly and they are both typical Per Incantos, quite mature and with a lot of presence. Per Incanto really stamps them.

"He had 18 individual winners in November and this month he's had seven already."

Sire of the Gr.1 Diamond Stakes (1200m) winner Dal Cielo and the elite level performer Saracino, Per Incanto has again been popular with breeders this season with a book in excess of 100.

"Three Group One winners have gone to him, Sharvasti, Xanadu and Creil, and they are all in foal," Williams said.

"He's Danehill free and he crosses so well with Danehill, the other blood that crosses well is Success Express," Williams said.

"His oldest are five-year-olds and they will get over more ground, while Per Incanto has also got that important ability to put speed into his progeny.

"He's got outstanding foals out there and I'm really excited about what is ahead for him." – NZ Racing Desk.
