Leading Victorian nursery Blue Gum Farm has a proven track record for success and under the new ownership of Jason and Melanie Stenning (Trilogy Racing) and Sean and Cathy Dingwall, the team were quickly into stride at Magic Millions last month selling nine youngsters for up to $1.3million.

Their Snitzel colt from Vaujany set a new sales benchmark for the farm when knocked down to David Ellis and started their year on a high with the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale next on the agenda.

Blue Gum were the leading vendor by aggregate at last year’s Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne and that draft has already produced a stakes-winner in Bold Bastille. A speedy filly by Brazen Beau, Bold Bastille was snaffled by Lindsay Park Racing / Group 1 Bloodstock for $270,000 and duly made a winning debut in the $500,000 Inglis Banner RL.

She joins a stellar list of Blue Gum Farm stakes graduates including September Run, Semillon, Nanagui, Crosswinds and Bruckner, who has a full sister to be offered this year.

Bruckner topped the 2020 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale for Blue Gum when purchased by Aquis for $725,000 and proved a quality sprinter at three with a Group victory and career defining second in the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes when he famously split star colts Home Affairs and Artorius to earn a shot at a commercial career at stud.

His full sister by Snitzel from Jestajingle will be offered as Lot 314 and she is also a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group III winner Jukebox.

A metro winner by champion sire Lonhro, Jestajingle comes from a prolific Black Type family and her next two dams are stakes-winners Jestatune and Umatune with the family also producing Group I winner Itsahymn.

“She is an outstanding filly,” said Blue Gum Farm’s Sean Dingwall.

“She is very much in the mould of the colts that the mare has thrown - plenty of scope and substance with a wonderful temperament and relaxed nature.”

This much admired youngster is one of only three fillies by champion sire Snitzel to be offered at this sale and one of the others is also in the Blue Gum Farm draft.

Lot 167 is a stylish Snitzel filly bred on the exact same cross as the previous being from Lonhro mare Charleston Dancer, who is the dam of speedy Group III winning mare She Dances, a seven time winner of nearly $800,000 in prizemoney.

For the record, the Snitzel x Lonhro nick has produced three SW’s – Bruckner, Sandpaper, Wayupinthesky- from 13 runners so runs at 23% SW to runner!
