One to Watch – Hawkesbury – Half-Brother Inglis Premier

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 13

A talented grey by champion sire Lope de Vega with a pedigree that would easily measure up to Tattersalls or Arqana, this Robert and Luke Price trained filly is destined to win a lot better races.

Our Gold Hope had two runs last year for a win and a third at Kembla and was having her second run back from a spell in the Benchmark 64 event over 1400m. Ridden by Tommy Berry, she settled back in the field and showed a brilliant turn of foot to scorch past her rivals and despite racing greenly at the finish scored a soft half length win.

“We think she’s a stakes class filly and we brought her here today hoping she would win and then we’ll look towards the Kembla Classic,” said Luke Price.

Worth $200,000, the Kembla Grange Classic is a Group III race for three year-old fillies over 1600m on March 15.

Our Gold Hope was a $180,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

A $180,000 Inglis Easter purchase for her trainers from the Newgate Farm draft, Our Gold Hope is the first foal of Grey Queen (USA), a blue blood More Than Ready mare that won in the US and is a full sister to French Group III winner Dalwari.

It’s an outstanding Aga Khan female family featuring champion racehorses and Group I sires Daylami and Dalakhani and has enjoyed success in Australia to produce Group winning mares Four Moves Ahead and Emeralds, who are both now at stud for Jonathan Munz’s GSA Bloodstock.

Fernrigg Farm will offer the second foal of Grey Queen, a colt by Pierro at Inglis Premier as Lot 264.

Grey Queen was covered by Extreme Choice last year to Northern Hemisphere time and was then exported to France.
