The winners just keep coming from Hunter Valley nursery Segenhoe with a debut winner by I Am Invincible on Thursday at Pakenham an obvious eye-catcher.
A full sister to slick stakes-winner Muntaseera, three year-old filly Amoursirra opened her account with a facile three and a half length win in the $75,000 Future Stars maiden plate over 1200m.
Trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr, Amoursirra raced a little fiercely in the early stages, but Damian Lane was able to settle the filly and get her to the post a winner.
“She trialled really well. I’ve only ridden her the once previously, but she gave me the feel she was a Black Type class filly, so I was confident coming to a maiden, albeit 1200m was not going to be ideal first up,” Lane said.
“She just wanted to go a bit quick early, but hopefully we can harness that energy and she can be a good horse.”
A $550,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Segenhoe for Pendant Equine / MG Price Racing & Breeding, Amoursirra was bred by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum and is the fourth winner from four foals to race from well bred Redoute’s Choice mare Moosirra, an unraced sister to Group I winner Musir and half-sister to Group winners Merhee and Moofeed.
Star Thoroughbreds/ Randwick Bloodstock purchased the So You Think yearling filly from Moosirra at Magic Millions for $280,000 and she has a Wootton Bassett (GB) colt to follow and is now back in foal to I Am Invincible.
