This time last year Jeff Kruger and his team at Lyndhurst Stud Farm were basking in the glory of having bred and sold the winner of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in Skirt the Law and 12 months on they are preparing to sell her yearling half-brother by Nicconi and he bares quite a resemblance to the most famous Nicconi of them all.

Offered as Lot 17 the Nicconi colt from stakes-placed Exceed and Excel mare Outlaw Kate is a big strong chestnut with more than a touch of the Nature Strip’s about him, so is going to be an eye-catcher at the start of the sale.

Not only is he a half-brother to $1.6million earner Skirt the Law, but his dam is a half-sister to Group I winning $4.4million earner Masked Crusader, a long time sparring partner of the mighty Nature Strip.

Lyndhurst Stud have already had success with the Nicconi x Exceed and Excel cross (which runs at 11 winners from 14  runners) having bred and sold brilliant stakes-winning filly Scorched Earth, who won just shy of $500,000 and her half-sister by the farm’s resident sire Better Than Ready will be offered as Lot 145.

She is the sixth foal of terrific producer Scorched, who has had four foals to race all winners and is an unraced full sister to Group III winner Furnaces and half-sister to stakes-winner Volcanic Rock.

Third foal of an unraced daughter of Group III winner Gabbidon from the family of Bustler, winner of the recent Group I WATC Railway Stakes in Perth.

 

Lot 1276 Colt Better Than Ready x Monte Bella, by Bel Esprit

Full brother to smart multi metro winners Muscialli and Northern Express and dam has done a great job with five foals to race all winners.

 

Lot 1345 Filly Better Than Ready x Rockette Rocket, by Captain Sonador

Three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group I winning $2.1million earning sprinter Apache Chase and is the first foal of nine time winning half-sister to not only Apache Chase, but also Group II winner and Golden Slipper place-getter Churchill Downs.
