West is Best – Cracking Perth Yearling Catalogue Unveiled

The build up to February’s Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale reached a major milestone today with the online release today of the outstanding 2024 catalogue.

o be held at the state of the art Magic Millions WA Sales Complex in the Middle Swan, the sale has attracted a quality line up of 352 lots – selling across two days, February 22 and 23.

Today’s online release of the catalogue comes just days after the sale’s newest Group One winner Bustler scored a brilliant victory in the Railway Stakes at Ascot.

Playing God will be the star of the show at Magic millions Perth with 43 entries.

Some 90 individual sires are represented in the catalogue including WA sire sensation Playing God, who has 43 youngsters featured. Also in the line up are yearlings by 14 first season sires.

There’s a strong line up of exceptionally related yearlings to recent Summer Carnival stars including a full brother to WA Guineas winner and Saturday’s Northerly Stakes placegetter Zipaway and a full sister to Railway Stakes winner Bustler.

“We are proud of the catalogue we have assembled for 2024,” Magic Millions WA Manager David Houston reported.

“We have the cream of the Western Australian yearling crop – not only those sired by local stars but also a fine selection of WA owned stock by East Coast stallions.”

“Graduates of this sale have done it all – from Australian Horses of the Year to Asian champions, Royal Ascot stars to Autumn and Spring Carnival Group One winners!” 

“We have a huge number of yearlings either Westspeed or Westspeed Platinum and other state based schemes are represented. And of course all lots are eligible to be nominated to the $20.7 million Magic Millions Race Series.” 

This year’s sale will be preceded by the Magic Millions WA Raceday at Pinjarra Racecourse on February 17 with $600,000 in total Magic Millions prizemoney and WA Racing Women’s Bonuses on offer.

That day will feature the running of the Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic and Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy – both with a purse of $250,000 and then $75,000 and $25,000 MM WA Racing Women Bonuses respectively to eligible all-female owned runners. The two feature races carry Restricted Listed status.
