Hong Kong Sprint an Option for More Than Ready's BC Sprint Winner Roy H

Mark Smith - Sunday November 5

Twenty-four hours after Rushing Ready gave More Than Ready (USA) his fourth Breeder's Cup winner when she triumphed in the BC Juvenile Filly Turf, Roy H credited the Vinery shuttler with his fifth Breeders' Cup winner when blitzing the field in the Breeders' Cup Sprint.

The 5yo gelding was the second winner on the day for the connections, trainer Peter Miller and owner Rockingham Ranch, after they ran 1-2 with Stormy Liberal (Stormy Atlantic) and Richard's Boy in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.

Ridden by Kent Desormeaux, Roy H defeated Imperial Hint (Imperialism) by a length with Mind Your Biscuits (Posse) two lengths back in third.

"This is amazing," Miller told The Blood-Horse. "Two Breeders' Cup wins in one day. The race shaped up the way we thought it would. We saw a lot of speed in there and we figured he could sit third or fourth and make his big run. He did it just the way we drew it up."

A $310,000 purchase at the 2014 Keeneland April 2-year-olds in training sale, Roy H advances his record to 6 wins, 4 seconds and 1 third from 17 starts with earnings of $1,359,765.

The season may not be over for Roy H as the Dec. 10 Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin on December 10 has been pencilled in.

"We'll see what happens," Miller said. "Right now I'm just going to enjoy this and let it sink in, and we'll see how the horse comes out of the race."

Roy H is the best of five winners out of the multiple Grade III winning Elusive Quality mare Elusive Diva who was a $75,000 purchase at the 2013 Keeneland November Sale.

Roy H becomes the first More Than Ready (USA) to win a Breeders' Cup race on dirt as his previous winners came with Regally Ready (Turf Sprint), Pluck (Juvenile Turf) and Rushing Ready and More Than Real (Juvenile Fillies Turf).
