Outstanding Rare Opportunity at Arqana – Mare in Foal to Siyouni SH Time

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 22

Australian bloodstock investors have shown an insatiable demand for European tried horses this year and for those breeders looking to produce the style of horses our trainers are desperately seeking, the Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale (December 9 – 12) is a treasure trove of opportunity with an absolute standout mare to be offered in foal to Siyouni to Southern Hemisphere time.

Presented as Lot 149 in the La Motteraye Consignment on behalf of Dorrington Farm is Drawn to Run, a 13 year-old Hurricane Run mare, whose fortunes have sky rocketed in the past year.

An exceptional producer that has had seven foals to race for six winners, Drawn to Run is the dam of two stakes-winners in US trained Group I winner Dalika - a winner of 10 races, seven of them Black Type - and this season’s quality three year-old filly Drawn to Dream, a Group placed stakes-winner in Germany this year.

The value of the family was reinforced at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale earlier this month where Dalika was offered in foal to US Horse of the Year Flightline in her first season at stud and sold for $US1.65million.

Sold for $1.65million - G1 winner Dalika is a stunning looking mare in foal to Flightline.

Dalika won the Group I Beverly D Stakes last year and the mare she defeated that day was Princess Grace, who has been racing in Australia this season and has been twice second at Group I level in the ATC Winx Stakes behind Fangirl and the MRC Memsie Stakes to Mr Brightside.

Drawn to Run has a weanling filly by Lope de Vega that has been retained to race and she is now in foal to Siyouni and is the only mare in this sale with a Southern Hemisphere cover to the champion French sire, whose fee for 2024 has been set at €200,000.

Siyouni has had a stellar year represented by multiple Group I winners Paddington, Tahiyra and Mqse de Sevigne, while in Australia outstanding mare Amelia’s Jewel has been flying his flag to great effect and the first Australian bred foals by his champion son St Mark’s Basilica have also garnered glowing reports.

For more information on this exceptional mare call Arqana Australasian representative Damon Gabbedy of Belmont Bloodstock on 0408 007 786.
