Widden Stud’s champion sire Zoustar added a new French stakes-winner to his tally overnight when two year-old gelding Zoum Zoum won the Listed Prix Herod (1400m) at Saint-Cloud.
Trained by Ralph Beckett and ridden by Rob Hornby, Zoum Zoum was a short priced favourite and won by a length and three-quarters in keeping his record at a perfect three for three.
Zoum Zoum was bred by Sanctuary Stud and is the first winner for stakes-winning Holy Roman emperor mare Richenza, a grand-daughter of stakes-winner Nashatara.
He is the 46th stakes-winner for Zoustar and like so man y of his stakes-winners has a double cross of Danehill.
Zoustar is riding high this season as the leading Australian sire by winners with 74 on the board collecting over $6million in prizemoney headed by Group I winning colt Ozzmosis.
