Playing God's Investmentstrategy Captures Fairetha Stakes

Mark Smith - Saturday November 11

After winning the Listed Luckygray Stakes (1800m) on the Dan Morton-trained Another Chino (Maschino), Brad Parnham teamed up with his father Neville to capture the Listed Seacorp - Fairetha Stakes (1400m) with Investmentstrategy.

Given a positive ride, the Hollywood-handsome son of Playing God defeated Rope Them In by one and a quarter lengths to make it a Playing God quinella. It could quite easily have been a trifecta as the run of the race came from the winner’s stablemate Zipaway (Playing God), who came from last to finish fourth behind the A Lot colt A Lot Of Good Men.

With his maiden stakes success, Investmentstrategy advances his record to three wins, a second and a third from six starts with earnings of $224,720.

Neville Parnham said his two runners will meet again in the Belmont Guineas in a fortnight.

“The track is red hot today and you have to be on speed and he was the one who was going to be there, Neville Parnham said.

“The other horse (Zipaway) was always going to be out the back and it was a huge run to come from where he did.

“All honours to the winner; he is a very nice horse. He shows a lot of promise and will head to the Guineas, which was his target after his  (WA) Sires’ run (third).

“He is still a colt and a very attractive horse so hopefully he can win another good race.

“He will run a mile and has been in a lot of tight finishes where he looks like he might be run over, but he lifts. He is a real fighter.

“If Zipaway draws a barrier he will win the Guineas but this horse will be hard to beat because he will be in a forward spot.”

A $120,000 purchase for Parnham Racing Stables from the Misty Valley Thoroughbreds draft at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Investmentstrategy is the best of two winners from as many to race for the Manhattan Rain mare World Class, a half-sister stakes-placed Jericho (Smart Missile) from the remarkable Denise’s Joy family.

World Class has a yearling colt by I'm All The Talk and a colt foal by Awesome Rock.

Investmentstrategy is the 14th stakes-winner for Darling View Thoroughbreds Playing God, which stands for $33,000.
